I Have Been Told by a number of people that if you jailbreak your ps3 you can get console banned.
Aka Not able to play on there ps3 forever, so you have to buy a brand new ps3 worth £300 odds.
I Dont know why they would do that. because notch doesnt mind if people hack minecraft and put mods etc into it?
so what about sony? is it because of there world leading cameras ?

this is true if they catch you being stupid and hosting challenge lobbies for call of duty. If you dont do anything too obvious like playing game backups offline your less likley to get caught

Using minecraft to compare to PSN isnt fair to your conversation, Yes notch doesnt care if you mod his game for your enjoyment, In the playstation and xbox world most people hack and mod games for their own enjoyment but at other peoples expense. I would love for you to go on CoD WaW and find a multiplayer game that doesnt have someone using infections, In minecraft you cant use mods on a server unless the server has the mod installed and if it where ever you found that servers ip adress usually says that that certain mod is installed.

I am going to sound really nooby, but when you "jailbreak" a PS3, what are the benefits and what can you do with it once you have done a "jailbreak" it.

By world leading camera I hope you refer to the A77 lol best SLT on the market tbh. As for the jailbreak I wouldn't reccomend it because SOny will ban your console from using their online services and you are also going to be liable for a prosecution if you have violated any copyright laws. so it's advisable that you don't do it. but of course noone is stopping you. but personally I kinda enjoy being able to play online with my friends and others :-)
